A BrowserStack alternative for app previews

BrowserStack is an excellent QA platform. But a QA platform is what it is: if your actual task is "let my client open this build and tell me what they think," you're paying for — and wading through — a device cloud built for a different job.

Try it with a live device

PreviewAPK is in private beta. Get early access to preview your own builds.

What BrowserStack is built for

BrowserStack runs one of the largest real-device clouds in the industry, and QA teams rely on it for good reasons:

If you are running automated regression across forty devices every night, nothing on this page replaces that. PreviewAPK isn't a test-framework grid or a device lab, and won't pretend to be — though its API, CLI, and MCP server do let scripts and AI agents push builds, drive the app, and capture screenshots.

When you just need a preview link

A large share of "device testing" in day-to-day client work isn't testing in the QA sense at all. It's approval: the build is done, and a product manager, a client, or a small group of testers needs to see it, tap through it, and say yes or no. For that job, a device cloud creates friction at every step:

PreviewAPK strips the job down to its shape: upload the APK, preview it instantly, send the session's share link. It opens in any browser with the app already running on a cloud device. One person drives, everyone else watches live, and nobody on the receiving end installs anything or creates an account. And from your portal you can mint a short-lived QR that installs the build on your own phone, for the checks only real hardware can settle.

How PreviewAPK works

  1. Upload your APK and pick an Android version (10–15) and device profile.
  2. A device boots in seconds with your app installed and launched.
  3. Send the build's link to whoever needs to see it. Sessions auto-stop after 15 minutes idle.

That's the whole workflow — because for approvals, the workflow is the feature.

FAQ

Is PreviewAPK a full replacement for BrowserStack?

No — and it isn't trying to be. BrowserStack offers thousands of real devices, automation frameworks like Appium and Espresso, and reporting built for QA organizations. PreviewAPK's job is the build → preview loop: turn an APK into a live link anyone can open, and let you — or your agent, through the API — drive it. If you run automated test suites across a device matrix, you need BrowserStack. If you need to preview a build or get a client to approve one, you probably don't.

Can a non-technical client open a PreviewAPK link?

Yes — that's the point of it. The link opens in any browser, the app is already running on a cloud Android device, and the viewer installs nothing and needs no account. One person can drive the app while everyone else on the link watches live.

How does pricing differ from BrowserStack?

BrowserStack pricing is per user and per parallel test, aimed at QA teams and organizations. PreviewAPK is a flat $19/month per device with unlimited testing — no seats, no parallels, and no charge for the number of people you share a build with.

Which Android versions and devices does PreviewAPK offer?

Android 10 through 15 on Pixel 9 Pro and Galaxy S24 device profiles. It's a focused set — the mainstream devices most client builds target — rather than a device lab of thousands.
